Adam N. Heavenrich is a longtime transaction and finance professional with over twenty years of experience in structuring, selling, acquiring, and underwriting healthcare and real estate projects. He has served as lead financial advisor to publicly- and privately-held assisted living, independent living, and nursing home companies.

His articles have appeared in major senior living and healthcare publications including Nursing Homes Magazine, Assisted Living Today, and the American College of Physicians Observer (see Articles); he has also lectured widely on the subject of healthcare mergers and acquisitions. He is an Executive Circle Member for the National Investment Center for the Senior Housing & Care Industry (NIC).

Prior to founding Heavenrich & Company in 1994, Heavenrich was senior underwriter for real estate lending at the U.S. unit of Sanwa Bank, then the world's fifth-largest bank. Prior to Sanwa, Heavenrich held positions with Shearson Lehman's real estate investment banking subsidiary. He began his career as director of sales and marketing for a New York Stock Exchange-listed healthcare real estate company.

Heavenrich earned a Diploma from the London School of Economics and his M.B.A. in finance and marketing from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management, with a concentration in healthcare and real estate finance. He earned his B.A. in economics with distinction from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1984. He lives north of Chicago with his wife and three children.



 

Lee J. Dixon II has served as an advisor for clients in more than 300 business sales and acquisitions since 1988. He has provided legal counsel in various transactions including public debt underwritings, real estate and business financings, sales and acquisitions. Serving as investment banker, merger & acquisition specialist, and lawyer, Dixon has helped clients develop and implement a variety of strategic business plans. In addition to his healthcare background, Dixon has substantial experience in the Wireless Telecom, Public Charter School, and Electronic Security industries. Dixon has written numerous articles in trade journals and has been invited to talk on the subjects of negotiation strategies and financial and tax considerations in involved business transactions.

Dixon holds a Master of Laws in Taxation (LLM) from the University of Florida, a JD from Case Western Reserve University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Kent State University.

Mr. Dixon is a certified public accountant and an attorney admitted to the bar in the District of Columbia, Florida, Montana and Virginia.

 


 

 

Rod Fearon has over twenty years of experience in senior living facility development, investment, healthcare consulting and real estate brokerage transactions.

Prior to joining Heavenrich & Company, Mr. Fearon was involved in the planning, development and acquisition of four senior housing communities in Houston, Dallas and Atlanta, with total development costs in excess of $25 million and over 320 units. One of these projects was owned in a joint venture with a $21 billion global real estate investment fund. From 1994 through 1997, Mr. Fearon was chief operating officer for a Houston-based consulting company that offered feasibility analysis, site selection and marketing solutions for the healthcare, real estate and oil and gas industries. Clients included Columbia Hospital Systems, real estate investment trusts, Texaco and Enron. From 1987 to 1994, Mr. Fearon managed the Property Disposition Branch in Houston for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). He began his career as vice president of marketing for a prominent Austin real estate development and brokerage firm.

Mr. Fearon received his BBA in Real Estate and Urban Land Development from the University of Texas at Austin in 1983. He resides in Houston with his wife and child.

 

 


 

 

Alec Schiffer Alec Schiffer is a licensed broker in California and has served as Investment Advisor at LaJolla Realty Advisors, a boutique commercial brokerage firm in Southern California. Alec is a graduate of the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado. Alec has recently joined our firm in the San Diego offices.
